Located in Georgetown, Queensland, the Terrestrial Visitor Information Centre is the ideal first stop for travellers exploring the Gulf Savannah. Opened in 2003, the centre is more than an information hub — it’s a place to discover the stories, landscapes, and heritage that make the Etheridge Shire unique.
Visitors can find:
Local Knowledge & Travel Advice
– Our friendly team can assist with maps, brochures, and up-to-date information on roads, attractions, accommodation, tours, and events throughout the shire.
The Unearth Etheridge Exhibit
– An engaging display showcasing the region’s geology, Indigenous culture, pastoral industry, and pioneering history.
Ted Elliott Mineral Collection
– One of the world’s most significant private collections of minerals and gemstones.
(Currently closed for an exciting upgrade — reopening date to be confirmed.)
